The Flatiron Building on Manhatten is one of the most iconic buildings in the city. Located on Broadway and Fifth Avenue it stand 21 storeys tall. It was originally called the Fuller Building but, you guessed it, because of its shape, locals started calling it the Flatiron Building. The name stuck, and now the whole area (i.e. Flatiron District) is named after this building.
The Flatiron Building is gorgeous, unique, eye-catching and captivating. It is not a tall building, but I was surprised by the detail the embelish the facade. As a bonus it is right across from a pretty park and a super small little market!! Really a great tourist spot – oh but look out for the traffic. Actually, always, everywhere in New York, look out for the traffic – those people drive like maniacs!!!
We just returned from an awesome trip to New York City!!
A couple days before the trip my hubby surprised me with an early birthday gift… And I mean way early, as my birthday is November!! A Sony A6300 mirrorless camera!! I was (still am) stoked about it!! It made a world of difference on this trip to not lug around my heavy, bulky Canon 6D around!! I still have to figure out some tweaks that comes with upgrading to a new camera, but I am getting there slowly but surely!!
I will share some photos (and stories/tips) of this gorgeous vacation with you soon!!
Crescent Falls has long been on my list of places I wanted to visit. It wasn’t until recently that I made the effort to find out exactly where Crescent Falls is located!! So close to home – It was a no-brainer… We would visit Crescent Falls in the very near future!!
We took our dutch friends to the mountains for the weekend, and man, was it a good weekend for hikes and waterfalls!!! So beautiful!! Here are a couple photos from our stop at Crescent Falls!!
… While entertaining our Dutch friends over the weekend, I decided to capture some photos to create gifs!! … Needless to say – I am slightly obsessed!! You know, where there’s smoke, there’s fire!! This is a snippet from our weekend in the mountains!!! 😀
The Fountains of Bellagio has been featured in many many movies, and if it wasn’t for some of those movies, we probably would never have wanted to see the city of Vegas – ever. One of the big attractions (for me) was the fantastic Fountains of Bellagio. They put on an impressive display every 15-30 minutes (depending on the time of day) and you need to find a spot early to get a good viewpoint!
We recently had to re-enter Canada in order to activate our Permanent Residence status (and yes, we are finally permanent residents of Canada!). We always knew that this is something that can happen at any moment, and we had kind of decided if the day came that we got our ‘go’, we would do a quick trip to Vegas! And that is exactly what we did… We hopped on the plane and spent a weekend in Sunny Las Vegas!!
What an interesting place!…. But today it is all about the Bellagio Fountains!! Oh my, that is something that I always would have loved to see!! And aren’t they something special!! We just loved it!! Fortunately my fabulous hubby offered to take a video of one while I was taken photographs… So today I thought I’d share this with you! This fountain dance was to the song Big Spender by Frank Sinatra! It was super cheeky – and a good one to share!!
We just loved this display!! The video starts out a little boring, but it gets way better around the 2 minute mark!! Also check out a couple of the photos we took…
